Grooming update 03/23/2018: Good morning!
Grooming has ended at Echo Ridge this season. Thank you for a great season! The numbers are not finalized, but this season saw a record high of visitors at Echo Ridge. Each year the number of Nordic skiers and snowshoers enjoying the amazing Echo Ridge increases.
A special thank you to all of the volunteers! With the exception of the majority of the grooming, the Lake Chelan Nordic Club is operated by volunteers. This includes budget tracking, yurt upkeep, website management, grooming, beginning of the season trail prep, coordination, monthly meetings, social media updates, organizing and putting on the Loppet, Soup Sunday and more!
A special shout out to the following volunteers (I apologize if I missed anyone):
The Lake Chelan Nordic Club Board: Dave Hartwig, Bruce Willett, Sheri Krupla, and Teri Jackson.
Soup Sunday organizer and soup provider Tracy Hollingsworth and other soup providers: Jane L., Marilyn G., Andrea M., Jeannie P. and Karen L.
Volunteer groomers: Paul Willard, Coron Polley and Bob Knauss.
Thank you Stormy Mountain Brewing for hosting our monthly Nordic Club meetings and Local Myth Pizza for hosting our beginning of the season party!
Thank you U.S. Forest Service for coordinating the grooming and the cooperative agreement that allows Echo Ridge to be one of the best Nordic ski areas in the region.
Finally thank you groomers Wayne Machus, Mark Tesch, and Martin Fleming (also mechanic extraordinaire)! We appreciate your late nights, early mornings, weather stalking, and ability to stay warm in freezing conditions.
