Trail Grooming
The Nordic Ski Club operates the grooming program at the US Forest Service Winter Recreation Area under a unique Challenge Cost Share Agreement between it and the U.S. Forest Service. Funding for the the grooming program as well as snowplowing and other administrative costs comes from grants provided by the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office, plus trail fees.
These grant dollars are conditioned on matching volunteer efforts of the Club. The efforts of the Nordic Ski Club make skiing at Echo Ridge possible. |

Trail Information
The Club maintains a free email list server that is hosted though a member's website. You can receive the lastest grooming reports from Echo Ridge, other members' conditions reports and notice of Club activities. You can also post your own condition reports.
Subscribe and unsubscribe at http://www.eigenvector.com/subscribe/ ; choose the "Nordic" list.
The Club has also compiled a concise legal size map of the Echo Ridge Trails. Click on the image to the left to download a printable pdf file.

Warming Hut
In the fall of 2008 the Club erected a 20-foot yurt just off the upper parking lot at Echo Ridge. This cozy facility has a wood stove, tables and chairs to get out of the weather during a hard day of skiing. Look for a pot of homemade soup on Sundays!
This hut was built entirely by volunteers and with materials purchased with donations from skiers and the community. |

Community Projects
The Club also grooms trails at the Lake Chelan Community Golf Course and at Manson's Singleton Field, as conditions permit. These trails are used to introduce kids from the Chelan and the Manson elementary schools to Nordic skiing. We are always looking for ways to foster enjoyment of skiing and snowshoeing.

Club Activities
We are often asked about races and events at Echo Ridge. We are always open to working with groups that would like to stage a race or a ski tour.
The Saturday night before a full moon is a popular date for moonlight skiing during winter months. Conditions permitting, look for a bonfire and camaraderie around the yurt on those nights!
