			The Nordic Ski Club is compiling an Echo Ridge Trail Guide, trail by trail. As we complete each page it will be featured here. We welcome your comments on the Featured Trail or your description of your favorite trail. Send your comments or descriptions to info@lakechelannordic.org

What:

More than 25 miles of groomed skate and classic cross-country skiing 20 minutes outside of Chelan and Manson, plus additional 'backcountry' trails. More information is available at: http://www.fs.fed.us/r6/wenatchee/district/chelan/echoridge.html

Groomed trails follow the ridges of the terrain, creating a great skiing experience for all ability levels.  Because the trails are located on the ridge tops they are generally above the fog layer that settles in the valleys. So, if you are looking for sunny skiing head for ECHO RIDGE!

When:

Echo Ridge is open 24/7 as long as the snow holds out, typically mid-March.

Where:

From Chelan, head west on Highway 150 (Manson Highway) toward Manson and follow the brown information signs with the cross-country skier on it. Travel about 2 miles to Boyd Road, turn right and follow Boyd Road up approximately 7 miles to Cooper Gulch Road. Continue past the Echo Valley Ski Area and take a right up the hill another 2 miles to the lower or the upper Echo Ridge parking lots.

Cost:

Echo Ridge is a U.S. Forest Service facility operated by the Chelan Ranger District and the Lake Chelan Nordic Ski Club and is the best skiing bargain in the state.

Season Passes cost $70 and are available at the USFS Chelan Ranger Station. They are available at Uncle Tim's Chelan Rentals & Mountain Cabins Office, near Echo Valley Ski Hill, at the bottom of the hill to Echo Ridge. Nordic Ski Club memberships are on sale there too.

The daily rate for skiers 18 and over is $10 a day at the trail head. 17 and under ski free.

Note that Sno-Park, Northwest Forest Pass and Golden Age passes are not accepted.
