The Lake Chelan Nordic Ski Club erected a warming hut at Echo Ridge in the Fall of 2008. This long-sought goal was achieved with the labor and the financial support of the Lake Chelan Valley community. Individuals, community organizations, local businesses and the USFS Chelan Ranger District all worked together to make this a reality. The total cost of the project was about $10,500. This covered the cost of the 20-ft. diameter yurt frame, roof, covering and door, built by the good folks at Nomad Yurts in Homer, Alaska, and the cost of materials for the wood platform on which the yurt was assembled. The club has raised $7,600 to date to cover these costs, with the balance coming out of our capital reserve. We are still accepting donations....add your name to the list below!
